Eton, The Daystar
Eton, The Daystar God of daytime and hard work, he is the sun that crosses the sky, shining down upon Aelandris. Eton nourishes the plants, blesses the crops, and illuminates the farms and gardens of those who keep a small shrine for him. It is tradition to give an offering of turnips during planting season and again during the harvest, though any local fruit or vegetable will do. Eton is depicted either as the sun itself, or as an eagle radiating light, flying high, and keeping watch. His radiant Sun Clerics were known to harness his power, to blaze away darkness, or those they perceive as casting shadow upon the world. But more often, they were called upon to enhance the growth of crops and other greenery, able to coax lush growth from even the most light-starved plant. His followers value work and productivity for its own sake, and the dedication and discipline that it involves. He is often invoked before beginning a job or important project, and his blessing is sought as a ward against bad weather. Some of his most devout clerics have been known to disperse violent storms, shafts of sunlight searing through the clouds in some of the most dramatic tales of miracles of any god.
