When the Blight came, your home was lost and you had no choice but to flee.
It crept across the land insidiously and steadily, devouring everything and
everyone in its path, leaving behind a trail of rot and devastation. Some
had enough time to gather their things and leave, others were not so lucky.

Your escape from the cataclysm was a difficult journey, and many were lost
along the way. But you persevered, and survived against great odds.
Eventually, you found yourself in the Last Bastion of Altheria with other
refugees who managed to escape.

You may have traveled a short distance or a great one, by land or by sea,
alone or with other members of your community. You probably had no idea
where you would end up, where would be safe, or who you would find there.
Run-ins with the Blight or Blightbeasts may have stolen friends, loved ones
or even memories from you.

It has been a number of years since your arrival in Altheria, and the city
is slowly being restored, little by little. There is much to be done still,
and many dangers yet remaining. Many things have changed since those first
frantic days. You may have taken up a profession, tried to rebuild your
life, joined the ranks of the city's defenders, or maybe you were destined
to live on the margins. Regardless, your story is heavily influenced by the
journey you took to get here, what you left behind, and what you have found
in your new home.
