You grew up among the Thrae-kin in a clan bound to a particular aspect of
nature. You might be Thrae yourself, or you might have been taken in to be
raised as one of their own. Regardless, your culture is one of connection to
nature and reverence for the natural world, and you are considered Thrae-kin
even if you aren't of Thrae ancestry.
The Forest-kin and River-kin were the most common clans, with many
communities scattered across the world and periodic large clan gatherings,
but there were also smaller enclaves of Mountain-kin, Swamp-kin, and
Tundra-kin with their own clan traditions.
Those who live away from their clan's home typically feel a Call to return
to it a few times in their life. The Call is hard to ignore, and Thrae-kin
feel compelled to answer it for as long as they feel it, which can last from
weeks to years. Answering the Call is undoubtedly difficult for most
Thrae-kin since the Blight's destruction of their lands.
Though Altheria has welcomed displaced Thrae-kin with open arms, many still
feel uneasy there. They regularly struggle with the tension between the Old
Ways and the need to adapt to a new home.
