Kinhomes were the traditional name for wherever clans of Thrae and their kin
happened to have settled, usually far from civilized lands, in the depths of
nature. The Forest-kin and River-kin were the most common types of clans,
with many communities scattered across the world, with only periodic large
clan gatherings. But there were also smaller enclaves of Mountain-kin,
Wave-kin, Mire-kin, Taiga-kin, and many more, with their own clan
traditions. Myths telling of the dawn of the Thrae as aspects of nature,
born of the magics of Aether and the spritual will of the Ryn'Vrydarii, were
common amongst the kin.

Most Thrae-kin lived in a clan bound to a particular aspect of nature. While
most were Thrae, many were those taken in and raised as one of their own.
Regardless, their culture was one of connection to nature and reverence for
the natural world. All clanmembers were considered Thrae-kin, even if they
weren't of Thrae ancestry.

Those who lived away from their clan's home typically felt a Call to return
to it a few times in their life. The Call is hard to ignore, and Thrae-kin
feel compelled to answer it for as long as they feel it, which can last from
weeks to years. Answering the Call is undoubtedly difficult for most
Thrae-kin since the Blight's destruction of their lands.

Though Altheria has welcomed displaced Thrae-kin with open arms, many still
feel uneasy there. They regularly struggle with the tension between the Old
Ways and the need to adapt to a new home.
